So I don’t have internet at my house anymore. I had satellite, but did away with it because of the cost. I had also hoped that my phone company would offer DSL soon. But it doesn’t look like they are though. So we decided to have our home phone turned off and we are thinking about getting satellite internet again. I don’t really want to but at this point, it’s gonna be the only kind of high speed internet we can get. But my mom lives 1/2 mile from me, so I will just use her DSL. Oh and if you are wondering how she gets DSL and I can’t, that’s because she has a different phone company. I live just outside of their service area and they refuse to offer DSL to us even though we live close enough to the drop. But I do have a blackberry with internet access, so I can still get online somewhat. And I have a wordpress app so I can write in my blog from it. So yay!

Oh, I don’t think I ever updated about the power surge that took out some of our tvs. Well the power company’s insurance company was pretty fair. The tvs the kids had were not brand new. We got more than enough to replace them. I know that some people were not as honest as we were and were trying to get money for all sorts of things. I just can’t do that, I have a conscience lol. I know that some people are holding out for more money, but we really needed the money right now and like I said, we got enough to replace our things. That’s all I wanted. And speaking of money…
I have another jewelry show to go to. It’s for my sisters otherwise I wouldn’t go. I don’t like going because I have no extra money to buy anything. I told one of my sisters that but she said that it didn’t matter if I ordered anything or not. But I still feel left out because at the other two parties I went to, I was the only one not buying anything. I wasn’t going to go because of that reason but I had already told my sisters I would go. But I think I have Will talked into going so they will have at least one more extra person so they can get plenty of free jewelry. But the jewelry is not totally free, they will still have to pay the shipping and tax on whatever they get. Oh well, even though I can’t afford anything, I’m sure that my sisters will have great food lol.

Electrifying

There was a big power surge at my house yesterday. Well it actually wasn’t just my house, I’m guessing whoever uses that power company in this area was affected.  My parents live about a 1/2 mile away from us and they have a different power company.  I wasn’t at home when the surge happened.  I’m sure it would have scared me and Trey if we had been home.  My cousin lives next door to me and she said that the lights got really bright and then she heard a loud “pop”.  Right after the “pop” she saw that her tv and dvd player were smoking.  Her computer was fried too.  I was at home after the power surge (before I knew why the power was out) and didn’t notice a burning smell.  Will, the kids, and I didn’t know what time the power would be back on so we went down to my parents to cook supper.  My cousin called and told me about the power surge and that the power company said it would be the next morning before the power would be back up.  Will went home to check on things and sent me a text saying the power was back on.  We thought all of our tvs were fine, but the 3 in the back are messed up.  One won’t even come on and the other 2 have lines going through them.  The tvs are not that old and they were working fine before.  All of our larger appliances are ok.  I’m not sure why the tv in the living room wasn’t affected other than the fact that breaker had flipped. So maybe that kept it from getting fried.  The power company is supposed to be replacing our tvs but I’m not sure when that will happen.  I do feel that they should replace items that were fried because they were working on the power (putting in a new transformer, I think) and they caused the surge.  The tvs in the back were on surge protectors but they weren’t the expensive kind so the surge fried those too. I just hope they hurry up and replace them.

My aunt is having a jewelry party tonight but I wasn’t invited so I am not going.  I guess my feelings are a little hurt but I don’t know why.  It’s not like I have a ton of money to spend on fake jewelry anyway lol.  But it would have still been nice to have been invited, ya know?  That’s ok though, I will just spend the night hanging out with Will on the couch watching tv.  My shows come on tonight anyway. :D
