I’m Nikki and I’m addicted to the Twilight Saga
I used to feel silly for being addicted to a book series. That is, until, I saw my 50 something mother reading it. She’s into it just as much as I am. I actually sat in her kitchen talking to her about the characters as if they were someone we know in real life. I usually don’t have time to read, but I can’t seem to put these books down. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about (is there anyone who’s never heard of the books?) there are 4 books (published anyway) that are in the series. The first one is Twilight, of course. Then there’s New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. The books center around a girl who falls in love with a gorgeous, charming vampire. But really, the books are better than that. I mean Stephenie Meyer is one of the best writers I’ve ever read. She puts so much emotion into the characters and it’s so easy to visualize them. It’s almost like having a movie playing in your head :D . I’m reading Breaking Dawn now and it’s awesome. If you like fantasy type books, I would definitely recommend reading them.
I convinced Will to take me to see the Twilight movie on opening night. I really appreciate that because I know it was not on his “must see” list. He just thought of it off as another “chick flick” but went to see it with me because he’d heard me talk about it for months now. While we were watching the movie, every once in awhile he’d whisper a question about what was going on. I sat there, grinning, because I knew that meant he liked it. He even told me the other day that he’s kind of ready for the 2nd movie to come out (even though he doesn’t like to admit it). I heard that many guys who thought they wouldn’t like it actually enjoyed it. It’s not a total “chick” flick. I mean there are vampires and an awesome action scene in it. I wouldn’t mind seeing it again, but I’ll probably just wait to buy it on DVD. Ticket prices are just ridiculous but that’s a whole ‘nother blog entry!
