Officially a teenager
And I officially feel old…Jake turns 13 today. It seems just like yesterday that he was toddling around getting into stuff. Now he’s talking about wanting to drive. That’s still a few years away though because he has to be at least 15 to get a permit and 16 to get a license. He’s having a party here next weekend. We would have had it this weekend, but Rhiannon’s pageant (the one at the school that she is in every year) is today. Jake doesn’t mind as long as he gets his birthday present. This year my sisters and Will and I went in together and got him an Ipod with the touch screen. I got one for Valentine’s Day from Will and after Jake saw it, he wanted one. Ever since we’ve hinted that’s what we got him, he has been bugging us for it. So last night, we went over to my sisters’ and he just knew he was going to get his ipod. Courtney told me that she wanted to keep it overnight so she could charge it and add some songs to it. But since he had been bugging us about it, she decided it would be funny to give him a gift bag full of socks and underwear. He just knew he was going to get his Ipod last night but when he saw what was in the bag, he was so mad.He pouted all the way home! LOL. I did finally tell him that yes, he was getting an Ipod so stop being a big baby.
Back to Rhiannon’s pageant…She has an escort this year, we’ll call him J. He’s her little “boyfriend”. But they’re only 9 so it’s not like they get to go out lol. But everyday when she comes in it’s “J. this” or “J. that”. I talk to his mom on facebook and she says that J. is the same way about her lol. It’s cute really. I am not really expecting Rhiannon to win. She is always one of the cutest girls up there (yes, maybe I’m a little biased) but this is a school pageant so it’s usually teachers kids who win. I’m not just saying that because Rhiannon doesn’t win. But Rhiannon has been in the pageant for the past 3 years and every year,a teacher’s child has one in her division and other divisions as well. It doesn’t bother Rhiannon that much to not win, so I try not to let it bother me either.
I am going to take some pictures of Rhiannon at the pageant but I’m not going to post them on here. I will post them on the facebook that I have affliated with my blog though. Ok, well I need to get off the computer so I can wash clothes and get ready for the pageant!

I think I have finally got all of the kids Christmas presents (well I think Trey may get one more from us). I have even wrapped several. I just haven’t been able to get in the Christmas mood this year. I guess it’s because we’ve had a little financial difficulty lately because of Will not getting as many hours as he usually does. But I am thankful that we have a roof over our head and food to eat. God takes care of us and for that I am very grateful.
Rhiannon’s birthday is Saturday (she’ll be 8!) and she’s going to have a birthday party. She invited some friends from school, but it’ll probably just be my family because everyone is so busy this time of year. But I’m sure she’ll get nice gifts and I think she’ll love what Will and I got her. Since she doesn’t read my blog, I think I can say what it is. We got her a nice little digital camera. She’s been wanting one for awhile now. We got one at Wal-mart the day after Thanksgiving for a really good price. I think she’ll like it. I’ll have a couple of months to save up for Jake’s birthday..he’ll be 12. Wow..I feel old.
It amazes me how well Trey is talking. I mean he’s 3 and a half,but still. He picks up things so quickly. He has learned to suck up too :D. His favorite thing to tell me to butter me up is “You so purdy” and “I love you sooo much!”. And yes, it works everytime :)
